what makes a good day?

I’ve had the dozen daily delights up in my Firefox tablist for a couple days now. For those of you too lazy to click through, the daily delights are:

  • drink tea
  • eat chocolate
  • drink wine
  • eat a piece of fruit
  • eat fresh vegetables
  • have a conversation
  • have sex
  • get out in the fresh air
  • do nothing, think nothing, say nothing for at least 5 minutes
  • look at something with attention—a bird or a beetle, the back of your hand or a glass of water, a shoe or a pencil—until you see something new
  • read a novel
  • enjoy a glass of cool water and feel very, very lucky

She says that a good day is more than 8; a bad day less than 7. I’m not sure what would be on my list, but it would definitely skip some things in her list. I’m not a tea or chocolate fan; I’d much rather have coffee and cheese, instead. I’d substitute beer for wine (although she says that’s okay).

Some other things I’d put on my list: * ultimate/CrossFit/some sort of exercise: there’s nothing like that dead-tired feeling after you’ve been pushing your body * reading the news: I can understand why people could live without this one, but I feel disconnected without it * power nap: I haven’t been doing this one (mostly because I’ve been sleeping longer) but I how I feel afterwards

What else is on your list?
