Milan; Barcelona day 1

My night train to Barcelona was out of Milan, so I took a train over there in the morning. I wandered around with a girl I’d met in the Cinque Terre, but the only interesting thing we saw was a castle.

I got into Barcelona around 930, and to the tourist office around 1030 after walking the 1.2+ kilometers from the train station to the tourist office. Unfortunately, all morning my stomach had been hurting and just getting worse. When I got to the hostel around 1100, I just bought some Alkaseltzer and laid down for a nap, hoping I’d feel better. This was not to be.

I woke up about every hour, and took a bit more medicine. I threw up a bit part-way through the afternoon, but that didn’t make me feel any better either. Eventually, around 1800 I felt better and got up to buy some groceries. I’ve noticed that moving quickly makes the pain come back; it feels almost like I pulled an abdominal muscle but I don’t know how I’d have done that.

Anyways, that ate up the extra day I got from taking the night train, so I’m back to my original schedule: Barcelona (2 days, not including today), Madrid (3 days), Paris (4 days), travel to Amsterdam (1 day).
